Bleacher Bar (Fenway)
Built into Fenway Park's center-field wall, with a garage-door window that looks straight onto the outfield grass. It is the city's most famous game-day novelty, jammed every night the Sox are home, so get there absurdly early.
Parlor Sports (Somerville)
A 45-seat clubhouse on the Somerville-Cambridge line from the Trina's Starlite team, and a perennial Best of Boston winner. Basketball nerds and a sharp game-day kitchen make it the rare neighborhood sports bar that is genuinely a destination.
The Sporting Club (Seaport)
The Seaport's upscale answer to the sports bar, tucked inside the Omni hotel with a Fenway-tunnel entrance, a curved bar, and a wall of hi-def screens. Wings share the menu with steak frites and a seafood plateau.
Sullivan's Tap (West End)
A narrow, no-frills Canal Street institution pouring since 1933, a block from TD Garden. No kitchen, just a pool table, Boston-branded arcade hoops, and the grittiest pre-game crowd in the city.
Lincoln Tavern and Restaurant (South Boston)
A polished Southie tavern with exposed brick, wood-fired pizza, and TVs over a long bar. More restaurant than dive, but football Sundays and big games turn it loud and packed.
Cask 'n Flagon (Fenway)
The legendary Red Sox pre-game bar in the shadow of the Green Monster, drawing crowds since 1969. Sprawling rooms, dozens of screens, and a patio close enough to hear the roar from inside Fenway.
The Banshee (Dorchester)
Dorchester's Irish pub and Boston's premier international-soccer room, keeping Premier League brunch hours plus rugby and the American leagues. One of the best pub-quiz nights in the city, too.
Buff's Pub (Newton)
A tiny, packed Newtonville institution with a cult following and some of the best wings in Greater Boston. The screens are everywhere and the regulars are loyal, so expect a wait on game day.
Game On! (Fenway)
Built into Fenway's center-field wall, a multi-level party staple loaded with giveaways, artisanal pizzas, and a downstairs full of ping-pong and the Red Sox batting cage. Pure pre-game pandemonium.
The Phoenix Landing (Cambridge)
Central Square's longtime European-football bar, opening early for Premier League and World Cup matches before turning into a late-night club. The go-to when your team is on the pitch.
