Three acrostics, each hiding a word, and one more word that goes with all three.
About Arcos
Arcos is a free daily set of acrostics from Mind Loft. An acrostic is a list of words whose letters, read down a line, spell another word. Every day brings three of them, each with its own clues: in the first the opening letters spell a hidden word, in the second the closing letters do, and in the third the word runs down the diagonal, letter 1 of row 1, letter 2 of row 2 and so on.
Solve the three and the finale opens: one word that goes with all three hidden words, the way FLASH, SPOT and MOON all go with LIGHT. No length is shown, and any word that truly fits all three counts, so CHECK, STAND and BREAK take POINT, and UP and OUT as well. Every clue is written for a crossword, a wrong answer costs nothing, and each acrostic is worth three points, minus one for every row you choose to show.
Hidden words run four letters early in the week and five later, and the Sunday Edition hides five- and six-letter words behind longer answers. No app, no signup, play free in your browser. For a chain of linked words, try Hinge.
