One animal is hidden. Guess any animal and you are told the closest branch of the family tree the two share, such as Mammals or the Dog family. Eight guesses to name it.

About Clade

Clade is a free daily animal guessing game from Mind Loft. One animal is hidden, and every guess you make is answered with the closest branch of the animal family tree that your guess shares with it. A branch is a group of related animals: Vertebrates, Mammals, Carnivores, the Dog family.

Guess a bald eagle against a hidden fox and you learn only that both are vertebrates. Guess a house cat and you learn it is a carnivore. Guess a wolf and you are inside the dog family, with one or two names left to try. You have eight guesses, and the score is how few you needed.

A new animal drops every day at midnight Eastern, well known early in the week and a rare one in the Sunday Edition. The tree uses the familiar groups a field guide does. No app, no signup, play free in your browser. More daily guessing: try Dossier, Ping and Focus.
