About Taire

Taire is a free daily solitaire from Mind Loft. Two suits dealt face up into columns of four with a free cell or two beside them: sixteen cards early in the week, twenty from Thursday on. Nothing is hidden and nothing is shuffled mid-game, so there is no luck in it: the deal you get is the deal everybody else gets today, and it is always winnable.

Every deal is machine generated and then solved exactly, so perfect really is the fewest moves that exist rather than somebody’s guess, and it was confirmed by a second solver written independently of the first. Nobody beats perfect, and the whole game is how close you get. Par sits a cushion above it: it is what a clean line comes home in, and it is beatable. Deals climb through the week on a different dial each rung: Monday to Wednesday are the short sixteen-card deals, Thursday to Saturday run the full twenty, and the Sunday Edition takes a free cell away, which is a far bigger difference than it sounds.

A new deal drops every day at midnight Eastern. No app, no signup, play free in your browser, keep a streak, and race the daily leaderboard. More dailies: Parker, our daily sliding-block jam, Check, our daily checkers shot, and Mate, our daily chess endgame.
