The board is covered

24 words below, and 5 candidate rules. Exactly one of those rules fits every word on the board, and your job is to work out which.

Three words start green, meaning the hidden rule is true of them, and two start red, meaning it is false. Every other word is already green or red too, you just cannot see which yet. Spend a test to uncover one. You have 6, and 2 well chosen will settle it.

You score only the rules you actually rule out, so eliminate before you name.

About Axiom

Axiom is a free daily logic puzzle from Mind Loft, built on the oldest experiment in reasoning: find the hidden rule. A board of ordinary words is split by a rule you cannot see. A few tiles are flipped for you, a short list of candidate rules sits underneath, and a small budget of tests is all you get to tell them apart.

The trap is the one every scientist knows. Most tiles confirm what you already believe, and confirmation costs a test and teaches nothing. The tiles worth spending on are the ones where two surviving rules disagree. Every board is generated and machine-verified so that exactly one candidate fits it, and so that no single test can settle the question on its own.

A new board goes up every day at midnight Eastern, with a wider candidate field on Sundays. No app, no signup, play free in your browser, keep a streak and race the daily leaderboard.
