Impound is ready

Slide the blocks and get the red one to the exit on the right. Par is 32 moves and perfect is 26, the fewest that exist. No undo, only a restart.

About Impound

Impound is a free daily sliding-block puzzle from Mind Loft, and it is Parker on a bigger lot. Seven by seven, around twenty blocks that each slide on one axis only, and a red block that has to reach the gap in the wall. Tap a block, tap where you want it, and it goes if the lane is clear. Seven is an odd number, so the exit lane is the true middle rank of the lot, with three ranks of traffic above it and three below.

Every board is machine generated and then solved exactly, by breadth-first search over the whole reachable position, so perfect really is the fewest moves that exist rather than somebody’s guess. Par sits a cushion above perfect: it is the number a clean solve lands on, and it is beatable. Boards climb through the week, from about sixteen moves on Monday to the mid thirties by Saturday, and the Sunday Edition runs longer again. Every rung sits above the matching rung on Parker, which is the whole point of the bigger lot.

A new board drops every day at midnight Eastern. No app, no signup, play free in your browser, keep a streak, and race the daily leaderboard. More dailies: Check, our daily checkers shot, Four, our daily Connect Four position, and Mate, our daily chess endgame.
