Monday Night Brewing (West Midtown)
Founded on the philosophy of brewing easy-drinking, balanced beers for the weeknights, Monday Night built its West Midtown flagship around a hop-forward lineup including IPAs and wood-fired Neapolitan pizza. The infamous necktie wall in the taproom captures the spirit of a brewery that made work-week drinking something worth celebrating.
Scofflaw Brewing (Upper Westside)
Scofflaw's flagship Basement IPA put it on the Atlanta craft beer map, and 76 taps at its Upper Westside Lab location, Dr. Scofflaw's at The Works, give regulars a near-endless rotation of favorites alongside experimental batches. The outdoor bocce courts and sprawling beer garden turned it into one of the city's most activity-driven destinations.
Wrecking Bar Brewpub (Little Five Points)
Housed in a Victorian mansion built in 1900 that has served as a private home, church, dance school, and architectural salvage store, the Wrecking Bar earned Best Brewpub honors from Creative Loafing four consecutive years and was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. The ever-changing lineup of Helles, pilsner, barrel-aged stouts, and session ales is served alongside creamy mushroom risotto and duck breast in the stone-walled basement dining room.
Three Taverns Imaginarium (Reynoldstown)
Three Taverns' experimental satellite taproom inside the Atlanta Dairies complex, two blocks off the BeltLine, is equal parts brewery laboratory and cabinet of curiosities. Brewers here rotate through 20 to 25 experimental beers at any time, exploring lactose-forward milk stouts, fruit-and-cream sours, milkshake IPAs, and styles that never appear at the original location.
New Realm Brewing (Old Fourth Ward)
Brewmaster Mitch Steele's hop-forward IPAs and pilsners anchor the tap list at this BeltLine-adjacent destination, where a rooftop beer garden overlooks the Eastside Trail and the Atlanta skyline. The wood-fired pizza and a prime outdoor patio made it one of the most visited brewery stops on Atlanta's most-walked path.
Bold Monk Brewing (Upper Westside)
A Belgian-inspired brewery that doubles as a restaurant, bookstore, coworking space, and coffee shop under one expansive roof. The award-winning Belgian-style ales and a menu of brisket poutine, moules-frites, and Belgian frites give it a distinctly European character rare in the American South.
Arches Brewing (East Point)
A lager-focused craft brewery that fuses Old World European traditions with new-world hop blends, Arches built its reputation on finely crafted pilsners, Helles, and classic ales brewed with technical precision. The no-frills taproom in East Point has become a quiet favorite among Atlanta drinkers who value the craft of traditional lager-making.
SweetWater Brewing Company (Armour)
Atlanta's biggest craft brewery, founded in 1997 by Freddy Bensch and Kevin McNerney, helped define the Southeastern palate with the 420 Extra Pale Ale, a West Coast-style hop showcase that won Small Brewery of the Year at the Great American Beer Festival in 2002. The sprawling taproom and expansive beer garden remain the anchor of the city's craft beer identity.
Fire Maker Brewing (East Atlanta Village)
Voted Best Brewery in Atlanta three consecutive years by Atlanta Best Media (2022-2024) and ranked second Best New Brewery in America by USA Today, Fire Maker pours 30-plus taps of craft beers, ciders, cocktails, and coffee from a taproom with floor-to-ceiling windows and a patio with skyline views. The kitchen's Scoville hot chicken is as fierce as the beer list.
Atlantucky Brewing (Castleberry Hill)
One of Georgia's few Black-owned brick-and-mortar breweries, Atlantucky was founded by members of the hip-hop group Nappy Roots as a space where craft beer culture and Southern hip-hop culture share equal footing. The rotating tap list, highlighted by the Castleberry Pils Lager and Peaches and Queens Peach Cobbler Ale, is backed by a full kitchen.
