Heron Glen Golf Course (Ringoes, NJ)
Hunterdon County's well-conditioned daily-fee course, a rolling 18 routed through farmland and wetlands that plays far above its municipal price. A scenic, fair test that locals rank among central Jersey's best public golf.
Bally's Golf Links at Ferry Point (Bronx, NY)
A Jack Nicklaus-designed links sprawled along the East River beneath the Whitestone Bridge, with fescue-lined fairways and skyline views. The only true links-style layout in the five boroughs.
Neshanic Valley Golf Course (Neshanic Station, NJ)
Somerset County's expansive complex of three nine-hole loops plus a par-3 course, a modern daily-fee favorite with generous, scenic holes. One of the busiest and best-regarded public tracks in the region.

Patriot Hills Golf Club (Stony Point, NY)
A scenic Rockland County layout with dramatic elevation changes and sweeping Hudson Valley views. A challenging, well-kept daily-fee course an hour north of the city.
West Point Golf Course (West Point, NY)
The U.S. Military Academy's hilly course set above the Hudson, open to the public and routed through dramatic terrain. The riverside views and academy backdrop are worth the drive alone.
Galloping Hill Golf Course (Kenilworth, NJ)
A historic Union County muni, restored in recent years to championship condition with a grand clubhouse. A long-time high-volume favorite for North Jersey golfers.
Phillip J. Rotella Memorial Golf Course (Thiells, NY)
A well-regarded Rockland County town course offering strong conditioning and real value just north of the New Jersey line. A reliable, friendly day-trip round.
Berkshire Valley Golf Course (Oak Ridge, NJ)
A Morris County course carved through wetlands and rock outcrops, scenic and demanding off the tee. One of the better-conditioned daily-fee tracks in northern New Jersey.
