Yamada (Chinatown)
A hidden Chinatown kaiseki counter where Chef Yamada serves a $330 per-person tasting menu of seasonal Japanese courses to just a handful of seats. The New York Times ranked it second in the city for 2026 and the Michelin Guide added it the same year.
Meju (Long Island City)
Hooni Kim's intimate Long Island City tasting counter builds an entire menu around house-fermented jang, and reviewers call it the most personal Korean fine dining in the city. The New York Times made it the highest-ranked Queens restaurant on its 2026 list.
Kabawa (East Village)
Paul Carmichael's deeply personal Caribbean tasting menu at Momofuku's East Village outpost, named the best restaurant in New York for 2026 by the New York Times. Sorrel powder, tamarind, allspice, and Scotch bonnet thread through chutney-rich plates and the now-iconic habanero goat shoulder.
Atomix (NoMad)
Junghyun and Ellia Park's 14-seat Korean tasting counter, named the best restaurant in North America by the 50 Best organization. Each course arrives with a collectible card explaining its story, and a two-Michelin-star rating backs up the acclaim.
Cocina Consuelo (Hamilton Heights)
A colorful Hamilton Heights supper club where chef Susana Trilling cooks regional Mexican plates with grandmotherly precision, paired with cinnamon-scented café de olla. The New Yorker called it the vivid afterlife of a Mexican supper club, and Google reviewers rate it 4.7.
Adda (East Village)
The Unapologetic Foods crew revived their famed Indian counter in the East Village, where lamb butter, fiery parchas, and the cult Butter Chicken Experience (a chef-driven tableside ritual) have become signature. Time Out NY ranked it the city's number one restaurant for 2026.
Theodora (Boerum Hill)
Chef Pete Ruggiero's wood-fired Boerum Hill room cooks dry-aged fish, lamb, and seasonal vegetables over live fire from a kitchen built around the hearth. Newly Michelin-starred and one of the highest-rated dining rooms in Brooklyn.
Torrisi (NoLIta)
Rich Torrisi's Italian-American fine-dining room in NoLita's Puck Building, the Major Food Group flagship that reimagines red-sauce classics with luxe technique and a hushed, grand setting. Michelin-starred and a regular on the city's best-of lists.
Borgo (Midtown)
Andrew Tarlow's elegant Italian inside the Fifth Avenue Hotel, where chef Jordan Frosolone's pastas and timballo di anelletti have built one of the most popular new openings in Midtown. The New York Times placed it sixth on its 2026 list.
Le Veau d'Or (Upper East Side)
Manhattan's oldest French bistro, opened in 1937 and lovingly revived in 2024 by Frenchette's Lee Hanson and Riad Nasr. The compact prix-fixe of duck a l'orange, frisee aux lardons, and celeri remoulade made it one of the most celebrated reopenings in the city, and the New York Times put it among its best restaurants for 2026.
