The full ranking
Three-star tasting menus, four-figure omakase, and the dining rooms that define New York at the top of the tier. The benchmark for special-occasion meals in the city.
Sushi Sho (Midtown East)
Keiji Nakazawa, the godfather of modern Edomae sushi, earned New York's newest third Michelin star here. The roughly 20-course omakase gives way to an okonomi round where regulars order 30 more pieces.
Le Bernardin (Midtown)
Eric Ripert's seafood cathedral has held three Michelin stars for decades and still sets the city's standard for refined fish cookery. The $350 chef's tasting remains the benchmark New York fine dining experience.
Jungsik (Tribeca)
The first Korean restaurant in America to reach three Michelin stars, where Yim Jung-sik plates new Korean cuisine with surgical precision. A special-occasion room that rewards multiple-of-five anniversaries.
Per Se (Columbus Circle)
Thomas Keller's New York flagship overlooks Central Park from the fourth floor of the Time Warner Center. The $425 nine-course tasting, with its salmon cornets and oysters and pearls, is still a bucket-list meal.
Eleven Madison Park (Flatiron)
Daniel Humm's three-Michelin-starred Flatiron landmark, the most celebrated fine-dining room in New York, reinvented in 2021 as an entirely plant-based tasting menu in a grand Art Deco space.
Atomix (NoMad)
Junghyun and Ellia Park's 14-seat Korean tasting counter was named the best restaurant in North America by the 50 Best organization. Each course arrives with a collectible card explaining its story.
Ikigai (Fort Greene)
A sleeper Brooklyn tasting counter that pairs Japanese technique with a neighborhood address, earning some of the highest diner ratings of any fine dining room in New York. The Infatuation ranks it among the city's best expensive tasting menus.
Raon (Upper East Side)
A jewel-box Korean tasting room on East 59th with a 4.9 Google rating, where hansik courses are composed with kaiseki-level restraint. One of the hardest-to-find splurges on the Upper East Side.
Huso (Tribeca)
The caviar-house restaurant from Marky's, where a $285 tasting layers sturgeon roe through nearly every course. An opulent, deeply specific splurge that diners rate among the city's best meals.
Meju (Long Island City)
Hooni Kim's intimate tasting counter builds an entire menu around house-fermented jang, and reviewers call it the most personal Korean fine dining in the city. One Michelin star and near-perfect diner scores.
