Salty Dog Saloon (UF)
A 21-plus-only Gainesville institution open since 1962 on University Avenue, known for wooden booths packed with seniors, cheap pitchers, card games, and a jukebox stocked with indie throwbacks. One of the few Gator-area bars that enforces an age policy with conviction.
Balls (UF)
Gainesville's only 18-plus midtown venue, positioned directly across from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, with graffiti walls, all-you-can-drink Saturday specials, and a take-out grill window. The low entry age and proximity to the Swamp make it a freshman rite of passage.
Potbelly's (FSU)
A Tallahassee live music dive one block from FSU's front entrance, open since 1994 and known for world-famous Friday happy hours and game-day tailgates that draw lines around the block. National acts from Jake Owen to Derek Trucks have played the stage.
Bullwinkle's Saloon (FSU)
A no-frills Tallahassee saloon long embedded in the FSU nightlife circuit, known for cheap shots, sticky floors, and a crowd that arrives late and stays until last call. The lack of pretension is precisely the point.
Knight's Pub (UCF)

Sandbar Sports Grill (UM)

Loosey's (UF)

The Study Ale House (USF)
A USF-adjacent ale house with a wider tap selection than most campus dives, attracting students who want something beyond domestic pitchers alongside the usual dive-bar comfort. Quiz nights and rotating specials keep a loyal crowd coming back.
The Knight Library (UCF)
The UCF sports bar whose name lets students truthfully say they spent the night at the library, with daily drink specials, wall-to-wall screens, and a rowdy game-day crowd on University Boulevard. A pun that has served generations of Knights well.
