The full ranking
Lemon pepper, dry rub, and saucy: the ATL wing canon, ranked across the city's critics and taste tests.
The Local (Poncey-Highland)
A 21-plus Ponce de Leon Avenue dive bar that has become Atlanta's most celebrated lemon-pepper wing destination, with a house-seasoned version that locals have lined up for over 25 years. Wings cannot be ordered to go, which only reinforces the neighborhood institution's grip on its regulars.
J.R. Crickets (Midtown)
The Midtown original, open since 1982, that helped make 'lemon pepper wet' an Atlanta cultural touchstone and a national food meme after its appearance in FX's 'Atlanta.' On an average day the kitchen cooks around 4,000 wings, and lemon pepper is still the top seller.
Magic City (Downtown)
The wings from Magic City Kitchen, the takeout counter inside Atlanta's legendary strip club, are a destination in their own right: double-fried for maximum crispiness and available in flavors including the house Louwill Lemon Pepper BBQ named after NBA player Lou Williams.
B&L Wings (Midtown)
A husband-and-wife operation that built its following through Instagram, known for breaded, sauced lemon-pepper wings and a honey-hot lemon-pepper combination that critics and locals call one of Atlanta's must-try wing preparations. A two-time winner of Atlanta Eats' best-wings designation.
The Bando (Westside)
A West Atlanta trap-museum-themed wing counter on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, known for heavily seasoned drums and flats fried hard but staying juicy inside. Their signature spice blend carries a touch of powdered sugar for a sweet-savory finish, and everything is made to order.
Pit Boss BBQ (Hapeville)
A counter-service BBQ staple near Hartsfield-Jackson where Delta employees and Hapeville regulars go for smoked wings cooked over a large hickory-oak firepit. The wings stay impossibly juicy off the smoker and come with a made-in-house lemon pepper sauce.
Delbar (Inman Park)
A Persian restaurant with a chic, plant-filled interior and a buzzing sunken patio in Inman Park, where the za'atar-and-garlic grilled wings are quietly considered some of the most flavorful in a city obsessed with drums and flats. Michelin Guide listed.
Hungry AF (College Park)
A popular counter-service spot on Old National Highway known for giant portions of wings, pasta, and cheesesteaks, with wing sauces named after local legends. The Mike Vick sauce, a citrus-sweet blend of lemon pepper and teriyaki, is a crowd favorite.
Nam Phuong (Buford Highway)
A beloved Vietnamese restaurant on Buford Highway that has built a cult following for its crispy fish-sauce-glazed wings, widely cited as among the best in Atlanta. The broader menu of pho, vermicelli bowls, and family-style platters makes it a full-destination dinner.
G Town Wings & Fish (Southwest Atlanta)
A Campbellton Road counter in Southwest Atlanta serving fried wings, seafood, and Southern plates at neighborhood prices. Locals praise the freshly cooked food, the deep menu of fried seafood and sides, and the no-frills value.
