Lion Palace Hotel (St. Isaac's Square)
The 1820 Lobanov-Rostovsky palace beside St. Isaac's Cathedral, run for a decade as the Four Seasons Lion Palace and continuing independently since the brand's exit. Still the city's most complete luxury product.
Grand Hotel Europe (Nevsky Prospekt)
The 1875 grande dame on Nevsky Prospekt that hosted Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky, formerly Belmond-run and independent since 2023. The caviar bar and Art Nouveau interiors remain intact.
Grand Hotel Moika 22 (Palace Square)
The former Kempinski on the Moika embankment, one block from the Hermitage and Palace Square. The rooftop terrace has the best museum-district view in the city.
Hotel Astoria (St. Isaac's Square)
Rocco Forte's 1912 classic facing St. Isaac's Cathedral, one of the few Western luxury operators that never left. Understated English-Russian elegance.
SO/ St. Petersburg (St. Isaac's Square)
Accor's design-led five-star at the Vosnesensky bridge with interiors by Antonio Citterio. The youngest energy among the city's palace hotels.
Angleterre Hotel (St. Isaac's Square)
The Astoria's sister house next door, a boutique alternative with the same cathedral views at gentler rates. A St. Petersburg name since the 19th century.
Lotte Hotel St. Petersburg (St. Isaac's Square)
The Korean luxury brand's European flagship in a restored 19th-century facade opposite St. Isaac's. Won Best Luxury Hotel in Russia at the 2024 Haute Grandeur awards.
Corinthia Hotel St. Petersburg (Nevsky Prospekt)
A 388-room Maltese-run five-star on upper Nevsky Prospekt. The largest luxury inventory in the city and a conference favorite.
The State Hermitage Museum Official Hotel (Palace Square)
The museum's own five-star hotel, decorated with Hermitage reproductions and a dedicated entrance program for guests. For art pilgrims above all.
Taleon Imperial Hotel (Nevsky Prospekt)
The restored 18th-century Stroganov-era Eliseev mansion at the Moika corner of Nevsky, with gilded halls and a rooftop pool. Imperial excess preserved in amber.
