DocketSunday Edition

score

One small world, 5 questions about it.

Today it is The Saleroom. Read the setup and the conditions, work out what they force, then answer. The conditions stay on screen the whole time, because the deductions are meant to be reused. There is a sketch to lay the letters out in, a notes pad, and you can cross off a choice you have ruled out. If the format feels familiar, it is: this is the reasoning section a well known standardized test used to run, and quietly retired.

The Saleroom
An auctioneer sells exactly seven lots (B, C, D, E, F, G, and H) one at a time in seven positions numbered 1 through 7. Each lot is also either sold to a dealer or sold to a private buyer. The sale must meet all of the following conditions:
1E is sold at some time before G.2G is sold at some time before B.3C and F are sold in consecutive positions, in either order.4Exactly four of the lots are sold to a dealer.5E is sold to a private buyer.6No two lots in consecutive positions are both sold to a dealer.7C is not sold sixth.
